BBK Install Cost?
BBK Install Cost?
I know it's best to do it yourself, but I want someone with experience handling something as important as my brakes.
How much do you expect a 4 wheel BBK install would cost? I was quoted 4-5 hours at $65/hr for a max of $325. Does that sound about fair?

Hmmm... never thought about that. Is that a big cost factor? Should I pick some up myself before the install? Here's a list recommended by StopTech... any personal preference? I thought any DOT 5 fluid would work but I guess there's much more to it.

· ATE TYP 200
· ELF HTX 115
· Motul 550

BTW, a trader rating of 40? Wow!! You must be like an eBay merchant on here... lol.

Yes, I've bought/sold a bunch of stuff on this site. The modding never ends (shhh, don't tell the wife
).
You don't want to use DOT 5 silicone fluid. Dot 3 or 4 is what you want to use. For street use, I have found that the $6 quart bottle of Valvoline "synthetic" fluid from the auto parts store works fine.
I did both my front and rear GREX big brake kit. It was a pretty simple disassemble old/reassemble new deal. Cutting the dust shields was a PITA though. $325 seems fair, but if you're somewhat mechanically inclined I would DIY.
