you can get R1 "Premium rotors" which uses the premium rotors from Centric, which are the same blanks as the StopTechs. If you are non-brembo I'm sure they can do it for $300. The only thing is you need to go to Autozone and buy a 5 dollar can of high-temp paint and spray it so the slots and holes won't rust.

.. I know there are some fervent anti-R1 people here.. but i bought their rotors and I'm perfectly happy with it

thats the package I got, w/ the centric posi quiet pads all around which are great also. 217 for everything!!!!

You can just tell them when you get the item, that you want it just slotted, or just drilled, blank, whatever. I wouldn't pay 3 times more for stoptech for the name.

warm regards,

JK
Is OC Autosports still on ebay? I have been looking and I am not finding them????

I have read about R-1 having bad customer service, but I pm'd Chris form R-1 on G35 Frenzy and he emailed me the next day. In fact I pm'd him several times and he always responded within 24 hours (unless it was the weekend and then he responded on Monday). As I have written before; R-1 and most other brake distributors get their blanks from Centric (they own StopTech and PowerSlot) and drill holes in them. They then sell them as their own brand of rotors. I currently have R-1 premium rotors on my G35 sedan and have had no rust problems. Also FYI rotors are made of iron and when you introduce moisture and oxygen they all will rust. I have read posts by people who have BBK from big name companies that have rust problems with their rotors. I belive T-Trank stated in a thread that his rotors (BBK) had rust on them. Believe what you want about R-1, but I have had nothing but good luck with them.

I think the only thing people are complaining about is the rust problem on the hubs. I heard if you spray paint them before installing, you won't have rust problems with the R1 rotors

I realize you were talking about OC Autosports. My point (I realize I wasn't clear) was there have been people saying R-1 has bad customer service because of email not being returned. It looks like OC Autosports has the same problem.

The hubs on the premium are already painted black so they will not rust. The only thing that would rust is the surface the pad contacts and the drill/slots. I believe the people who have complained are complaining about the rust on the surface swept by the pads and in the drilled and slotted areas.

I have read more positive things about R-1 than negative (especially on G35 Frenzy). The negative I have read is always by the same few people.
