ok..you know when u change ur brake pads..the pads have these clips that u clip onto the calipers? well..what are thoes clips for? do they hold the pads in place? do they pull the pads out so they dont keep hittin the rotors? thee reason i ask is becuase..i bought some pads..but only 2 of the 4 pads have the clips...are thoes clips important? thanks

so these "clips" are pad wear indicators,...do they make a noise or are they a visual indicator of pad wear? meaning they will pop out of the loop attached to the brake pad due to excessive wear.
