Need some lowering advice....
Yes, I did search.
Ok, so i never planned on lowering it because I just wanted to avoid all the issues that can be had with lowering. However, I just can't take the 4x4 look anymore and just want a nice subtle drop. So I did my research tried to learn as much as I can, but there are so many opinions and things being said I get so confused. I just want to throw out there exactly what I am looking to get and see if it would cause any problems at all.
I own a 2003 g35 sedan and looking to get a set of coupe 19's for my summer look. I need a drop that will suit these rims well and the car, but nothing drastic that will cause problems. So I came across many setups that was what I am looking for (z/coupe springs, tein H techs, etc.). However, the Eibach Pro Kit seems to be exactly what I am looking for. Has a nice 1 inch drop all around and doesn't seem to have any issues that I have heard of. So I am most likely going with the pro kits. Sooo....I got some questions...
1.) What size tire would I need on the coupe 19's in order not to rub?
2.) Do I need front or rear camber kits? If so, which kind and front or rear or both?
3.) Would I have to replace the shocks as well?
4.) Is this a safe drop that I won't have to deal with any problems?
5.) Would I need to roll any fenders?
6.) How do I know if I need a camber kit?
I know there are coilovers and all that, which I would love to get, however, it's not in my budget. If dropping the car on these springs is going to cost me 800+ (springs, camber kits, shocks), might as well get some tein basics, but that's besides the point.
My plan is to lower on the eibach pro kits, let them settle and get it aligned after a couple weeks. See how it is and if I need any camber kits. Then maybe invest in some tokico d spec shocks if I need to. Obviously my goal is just to lower on the springs and that's it, but I need to be prepared for the worst.
I know every car is different but I am looking for a nice drop that is noticable that won't give me problems. Just something to fill the gaps and to give it that aggressive look that we all want. Thanks for your time and reccommendations and comments are welcome!!!

beautiful! thanks for all the help man. I did a lot research since I posted this thread. I am going with the coupe 19's, eibach pro kit, and 245/35/19 tires all around to prevent any rubbing. Plus it will give it more of a sporty look since the 35 series is better/sportier IMO. I don't think I will experience any rubbing, however if I do, I will be prepared to roll my fenders if neccesary. Thanks for the help Texan1!!

I actually just rolled my rear lips on Saturday. It was a wheel shop in Houston. They used a heat gun and a hub-mounted lip roller tool. It took between 45min-1hr and cost 75 bucks(tax included). It is rolled flat(not a mild 45 degree roll...flat. No paint crack, no creases on the outside. If you look at an angle on one side(only a 1" section, you might see a slight, SLIGHT,wavy area ..but let me tell you I am the pickiest person and you can only see it if you kneel down and shake your head side to side in the garage where you have limited light, with the garge door open and the car backed in. Can't see it outside in the sun. I would recommend you find a similar shop and get this done.
Look at the Kumho ecsta tires, they come in this size for a good price and good reviews, nice tread pattern too. Read the reviews on discount tire.com
The front sidewall will be 85.75mm(245/35) and the rear will be 89.25mm 255/35. Then, if you do a mild 1" drop all around(prokit or 4 z springs) or 1" front z drop and .5" rear coupe drop you will be good.
I will get the tires/wheels mounted and drive for awhile until I can get my springs, then I will have the springs done and I will be done since I'v already rolled the lips.
Let me know what you decide to do...btw from what I hear 245 is good on an 8"wheel and 255s on an 8.5" wheel.

great info man!!! I am going to go with some Falken FK-452's since the reviews are great and highly recommended. Little more expensive but I don't want to go cheap on tires. I'm just going tog o with the Falken FK-452 245/35 in front and 255/35 in rear with the eibach pro kit springs. Also I will definatly go to a shop that uses the hub fender roller device you were talking about if I need any fenders rolled. Good??? Thanks so much for the informative responces everyone!

Look at all the bad reviews on this $300 premium Michelin
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/rea...fcs=false&fcb=
the very last one on a BMW is considering going from Michelin to Kumhos.
Kumho review
I've used alot of tires on this car over the years I've owned it (everything from bridgestone RE050 to Falken Azenis), and I was never happy with the balance of performance vs tread wear. Then I found the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's... and for a few years the 712's were my favorite tires. Now the SPT's are. These stick a little better than the Z/W rated 712's did, and the sidewalls feel stiffer. The big thing for me though is they last alot longer. Usually I got 20,000 miles out of the 712's, but this set of SPT's is only at 14k and they have over half tread left. My car has 328hp, and it's FWD.. so I wear them alot faster than most people would. I plan to get another set of these next time. This is actually the most popular performance tire I sell at my shop, we get alot of BMWs and Mercedes in to have these put on to replace worn out pirelli's and bridgestones. People seem to like them, we never get complaints.
After the expense of the wheels and a few other things associated with my car, I don't mind saving money since the kumho has good reviews, nice tread pattern, good prices and the sizes I need. In a couple of years(I drive 5Kmi a yr), I can put on a more premium tire if I want/need. But if it does the job, and I'm happy--I'll buy again. I'm running Avon tires on my stockers and have been happy with those no-namers. Maybe Falken will offer the 255/35/19 in a couple years
