putting the power down in my 07 g35s

very difficult to get traction at full throttle in my 07 g35s...i know theres alot of power going to those rear wheels but i just feel like they spin too much...i've been considering putting the g37 19s on my sedan, but would the extra .5" on the g37 wheels width in the rear make a difference and help put the power down better?...would i feel a difference in traction?...any knowledge about how to put the power down better would be appreciated

you gotta give more info. are u running the summer tires, in the cold they cant hook for their life. but i would suggest feather out the clutch, i loose traction in 2nd and third but im running michelin A/S pilots with FI on the straits. Its a rear wheel drive car so if your talking about going into turns the G's rear loves to swing out but its pretty controllable once you get the hang of it. dont drop the clutch over 3k cuz you will loose traction but more poor technique then traction issues. I know the feeling though cuz i can from a 4 banger auto fwd car to the G

Honda Accord
Lower profile (bigger wheels) = less traction.

Wider tire = better traction.

Also, what tire are you running?

I'm running 275/30/20 Falken 452s in the rear with negative camber (~-1.6), but still have pretty decent traction. I do have better traction with stock 18s tho'.

im running the stock 18" wheels and tires...18x8.5 in the back, with the bridgestone potenza summer performance tires...and i have the 5AT...im just wondering if getting the g37 19x9.0 wheels will help get me better traction...i know it will, but will it be significant...and terps you def. have a point when you say they can't hook in the cold, because today we got lucky up here in NJ and it was like 70 degrees outside, so i made a few strong pulls from stoplights, and they gripped like a champ, it was great, my rear didnt hop at all...but yea would getting the g37 19s help?
