OEM Rotor Q?

Silly questions gang, but I just finished installing new front rotors on my 06 sedan. I just bought the OEM replacement ones from Everythingg35.com and they came with this liquid shiet all over them, which I assume is some type of anti-rust ? IMy question is after driving around the neighborhood to "break in" the brakes, I could smell something burning. I pulled in my garage and coule see clearish smoke coming from both sides. It HAS to be the liquid crap I didn't wipe off, huh? I've searched the threads and haven't seen anything about that before.
I'm sure it's a silly question, but has anyone heard of the smoking before?

You're supposed to clean off the coating with soap and water before you put them on the car.

Yes lack of education and not following written proceedures can turn into a pain.

At our shops we spay clean them with Brake Cleaner THEN use soap and water and air to dry.

tee-hee. Not quite about the white and sticky. And BTW Q45 , no instructions when I received the rotors - Jack. I did read through our threads, websites, etc, I missed how rotors came with that way. Give me a break, I tried for the first time, and they are functioning correctly BTW. The liquid burns off.
Thanks for the help.

It should be common sense to remove anything oily from the brake rotor surface.

I think your brakes will be fine. Any contaminated pad material will wear off soon. Your brakes should improve with use.
