Brake Fluid Problem
Brake Fluid Problem
I have an 04 5AT coupe w/85k and non-brembos on it. . . I recently had a problem where my "Brake" and "SLIP" lights stayed on due to low brake fluid. Well, I got it again and refilled it again. Does anyone know why i'm slowly leaking brake fluid? Should I change out my OEM lines? Maybe something to do with my rotors or calipers? thanks
Uh you need to get under your car and inspect everything. Inspect the area around the MC, then the calipers, connections, then the rubber lines. If nothing, then you might have to take a look at the brake booster and start following the hard lines around the car to see if you can see any leaks
MC = about 10 seconds.
Lines/calipers. Easy way would be to get the car on ramps. You can make an intial inspection this way as the lines connect to the inside of the caliper. Same with the rears. You can check maybe 1/2 of the lines when one side is on ramps.

I see 2-3 w/ pics that show the rhino ramps I have. It "might" fit your coupe if you're not too low now.
One has a post about a girl selling ramps so they might be the plastic ones also.
I haven't tried my ramps after I put on the Z springs but it should work.
Or you just put the car on some 2x6s or 1x6s first.

I'm thinking i have a leak in the front lines to the calipers.. those are the only ones i've ever messed with..

Drive the G down there and try the ramps out. That way you will know if they work before you buy. Then again, having a set of those ramps is a good idea. They are SOOO much lighter than the metal POS ramps I've used for years.
they work. I tried them out this winter, plus they work great on the wifes car no problem. I purchased a set that i gave away as a X-mas gift. I'm still not lowered yet, I let someone borrow my spring compressor.

I didnt see any cuts or tears in the lines, i did notice a dirty greasy build up on the little bolt for bleeding. so i cleaned it off and tightend it a bit, it was a bit looser on the drivers side than the passanger side. i hope that fixed the issue..
btw, rhino ramps worked great. i'm sure it'll be a different story once i lower it..

no, but i did notice a greasy ring on the inner rim. so i'm assuming i didnt tightend the bleeding bolt too well, and when i engage the brakes a bit would drip onto the rim while traveling, causing the grease ring
