Installing 350z suspension and hotchkis sway bars -- advice?

I'm installing a revised 350z suspension (springs and struts) and hotchkis sway bars on my 06 sedan w/ sport suspension this weekend.

Does anyone have the same setup?
Any suggestions for the sway bar settings?

There seem to be a variety of opinions regarding the best stiffness settings for the front and back swaybars. Hotchkis recommends stiff/soft while most people on this forum suggest medium/medium, some even suggest soft/stiff.

go soft/med for starters. It's fairly easy to adjust after the fact.

what r u looking for as far as the sways go. Bar settings are personal preference depending on ur driving style and how u want the car to behave. If u ask everyone on this forum that has sway bars they will have all the possible combinations and they are happy with them. No one can tell u what kind of settings to use. It all depends u, rear tire width in relation to the front, shocks, springs, etc, etc. Best way is have a local test track/canyon that u are very familiar with and test every setting out there until u are satisfied.

I understand that all settings are a personal choice, so I'm mostly looking for a recommended starting point from people who have a similar setup.

My car is bone stock...this is the first mod I'm doing. I'm trying to stiffen up the ride to get rid of some of the body roll and brake dive, and get rid of the understeer. Most of my driving is street but I started going to more track days which prompted the upgrades...

I saw your posts from Nov. Are you still running with the stiff/stiff setup?

Thanks for help.

If u want to get rid of understeer i would recommend going stiff rear and medium front setting. With stock or even 350z springs i doubt u will see dramatic snap oversteer with that setting. I will say though it will get rid of the understeer that the car was naturally tuned on. As far as the brake dive go, the 350z springs should have reduced that dramatically. Good luck.

yes i am still running on stiff/stiff and due to back tires being about 20% i have some oversteer when i get to the limit, nothing too dramatic though.

Thanks. I'm surprised that Hotchkis recommended settings are so different from what people are actually doing...

I should have the sway bars installed with the stock sport suspension in a few days and the 350z suspension will go on shortly after that.

I'll post my thoughts after both installs.

www.m-workz.com They run hotchkis bars on their track cars and can help you out with an alignment and an all important corner-balancing (which makes a huge difference in ride quality, performance, and handling).
