Angry Help! Bent front sub frame

I just purchased a 2004 G35 about a month ago. The front tires are pretty badly worn and the alignment is obviously off. I finally got a chance to crawl under the car and look around and I noticed that the front sub-frame where the lower control arm mounts has been bent pretty severely. Anyone have one laying around (HAHAHA yeah, right) or know how much a replacement is gonna cost me.

I am pissed - I am having some tranny trouble as well, but I will post that to the drive-train forum....

Thanks,

Joe

Wait. The sub-frame is bent? How are you going to replace the sub-frame?

Buyer beware and VERIFY when purchasing any used car.

Just as you pay an INDEPENDENT expert to test all system, you need to pay for an independent alignment test and inspection.

We always warn our customers who bring in a potential car for inspection to expect $3,000 at minimum in deferred mainteance, repairs, restoration of mods. and damages on a pristine example.

In 4.5 years lots of damages can occur and worse wreck repairs are NEVER restored to oem since the insurance companies won't pay for perfection.

Subframes by definition are replaceable, more common to do the rear ones than the front..................get an expert body technican to evaluate.

Why 3 year old cars sell for half price in the REAL WHOLESALE MARKET.

I should have crawled under the car during my 30 day warranty and gone over everything carefully, but I was too busy to do so. I know what to look for, just never got the chance.

At this point though, I need to find a replacement, not cry over spilled milk.

The problem is wrecks maybe worse than the one you have. Discount Inet dealers will charge you freight so get a quote from local dealer's parts department first then compare.

We replace a good number on Q especially rear subframe which eventually bend out of spec from repeated abuse. Almost every serious curb hit bends the front one.

The sub-frame is a removable part and is replaceable - retail cost is around $500. Fortunately, my body shop was able to straighten it without needing to replace it.

That's great but you won't know how perfect the straigtening was until an alignment.

My body shop was able to straighten the damage and then checked the rest of the frames alignment. Took it to the alignment shop they had to do a four wheel alignment, but the brought it back into spec. Two new tires and I am back on the road.

I had been driving my 1970 240Z for the week my G35 was in the shop. Not only did we have the hottest weather so far this year (no air in the Z) but some (*#&$(*#& put a huge dent in my door - so now that one is at the bodyshop! Thankfully I have a $50 deductible... I drove it down to the Stillen show. I am sure that a bunch of you were there.

Hey Joe do you remember about how much you paid to get that fixed at the body shop? I was changing my brakes and noticed the same exact thing on my 03 G35 Coupe.

@Dannosuke The last post in this thread was 12 years ago, I wouldn't expect much of a response. As for your front subframe, there are now PLENTY of salvage G35 in the scrapyards so you will easily be able to get ahold of one.
