2008 G35 Lowering

Hey guys - I recently replaced my 2005 G35X with a G37 and my girlfriend got her 2008 G35 around the same time.

She decided to purchase some rims for her car and she got 18". We put 235/40/18 tires on it and are ready to lower the car.

There's a 2" gap in the rear from the top of the tire to the outer fender tip.
I'm I was thinking a 1.5" drop or so...I'm not 100% sure if the tire will rub if we go down 1.5" but I dont believe it will because the tire doesn't stick out further than the fenders do - and I believe the camber would end up tilting the tires slightly in - making fender rub even less likely.

Now I just need to know what type of springs will:
A) Lower the car 1.5" o so (make suggestions if you think I should go with more or less of a drop)
B) Not require a camber kit
C) Maintain as much comfort as possible/closest to stock ride comfort

Any suggestions will be helpful! Thanks very much.

Also - where can I buy springs locally for these cars? Does Infiniti sell any lowering springs?

Thanks all!

Pretty much any drop is going to require a camber kit for front and rear to get back into spec. You will have faster tire wear without proper alignment.

I just posted a thread about my G35x drop: https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-suspension/225608-alignment-done-g35x-eibach-pro-spc-front-rear-kits.html

I think Eibach is a good choice. Progressive rate, yet they are not stiffer than stock (initial rate).

Hey - I was just looking at your G35X I believe.
What size rims are those?

We have 18's with a 40 profile - and I'd like the back tire to be ALMOST into the fender...maybe .5" from it.

I'm not sure that the 1.4/1.3 drop will get me in there.

Where can I buy some springs locally (San Francisco Bay Area)

Thanks for the reply.

Conncerning your G37, try www.myg37.com for info concerning your drop. They'll have some people with experience in G37's with a drop (not that we can't give it to ya, just tryin to point you in the right direction)

For the '08 sedan, I'm sure there's plenty of sedan guys that can help you out with your question, or better yet, a search might yield the results you are looking for.

I have two sets of rims, both 17's. My chrome ones are OEM wheels, they are the optional upgrade wheels that nobody has because they are expensive for no real good reason. My tires are 235/50/17.

I know that 18/19" wheels can look better but I love the way 17" drive and handle. A side effect of 17" is it takes less of a drop to get the car really low. Larger wheels fill the gaps pretty well yet still give you good clearance from the road. A drop on 17" can be just as problematic. Instead of fender rub issues and clearance.. i just have scraping the hell out of my car in rough a** iowa issues.

You can get eibach springs from many places. I got mine from Tirerack.com and I got my SPC kits from THMotorsports (Thread in marketplace about it).

I just checked tire-rack based on the 2008 G35 (By Vehicle) search and it yielded no results.

Will 2007 G35 springs be equal to the 2008 model?
