driving with no upper spring mount

driving with no upper spring mount

Is this bad? im sure ill get a pretty diverse answer on this, Ive been driving like this for a few weeks, Im wondering if its going to do any damage to the actual mounting spot of the spring..I searched and couldnt find any info on it.

not a good idea IMO. It is there to provide a barrier between metal metal contact. At the very least you are going to scratch up the undercoating which will lead to rust

It also centers the spring, without it, the spring is free to shift during travel and in extreme cases can actually come out of the bucket

yeah i get some weird noises now and then but thats whatever..i think im going to try and get a pad to stick in there to stop scratching ect.

I guess it's not just Civic owners, with enough time the G has devalued to a point where people without any money, and more importantly without any common sense start to buy it. Put your springmount back and get lowering springs, they're dirt cheap.

why didn't you just lower the rears a bit more if you have coilovers?.. or just cut some of the spring mount to level things out

cut 90% of the spring mount and put it back in. It's there for a reason.

the stance just dont go low enough in the back
