Question about Z springs... I searched

I'm sorry but WWWTTTTFFFF? does revised, and unrevised mean?

I just picked up a free set of 04 Z springs, the guy took them off as soon as he bought his Z 4 years ago so they are basically brand new.

Can someone please tell me whats the difference between revised and unrevised, and which set of z springs do I have?

thanks.

The only difference is the rear spring rates. The early ones (unrevised) have 342 and the revised have 427. There were problems with the early shocks on the Z. I beleive they were under dampined.

Oem linear springs
G35 coupes with oem 17’s & 18’s
G35 sedan’s with sport suspension
350Z’s 2003/2004
Front:314 Rear:342

Oem linear springs
G35 coupes 2005/2006 with oem 19’s only
350Z 2004.5 to 2006
Front:314 Rear:427

Z springs will lower a coupe approximately 1/2 inch front and rear. If you buy aftermarket springs for a 350z they will drop your car 1/2 more than what is stated for the Z. They will drop a sedan 1 inch more than the amount published for the Z. Your spring rate will be the same with the un revised z springs. If you want a stiffer stock rear springs you have to get either the coupe sport rear spring (found on the 05/06 with 19's stock) or the revised rear Z spring.

assuming that your 03 coupe had the sport package (red shocks), you should get the unrevised z springs if you are reusing your oem shocks. If you are going with the revised full suspension setup (shocks and struts), then there will be no problems. Don't mix your oe shocks with the revised springs, they are not designed to work with one another and rear shocks will blow sooner.

If you have non sport, then you should buy whol suspension setups instead of just springs, you'll regret it later if you dont.

+1. non-sport suspension is jelly. It was a pretty big diff going to coupe/z springs + Konis from my oem non-sport stuff.
