I'm still trying to decide if I should go stillen or popcharger for my intake.

Oh wow, you'll have to let us know how that thing works out.

I guess with Vortech in my future I don't have to worry about intakes as much.

Is it too late to get in on this? Scott is a cool cat, no matter company he used to work for

My apologies for steering this thread away from topic.

Well, the install was pretty cake, minus a small setback.
ShanesG told me about 2 weeks ago that I had to modify the kit someway to fit the R2C filter, which he told me (and it ended up being so) was bigger than the K&N filter that comes with the kit. I may be exaggerating a little bit, but from what I can remember earlier today, the K&N was 2/3 the size of the R2C filter. I had to cut the front part of the heatshield (the part that forms the [___] where air would hit the filter so that it now looks like [ . ]. Hard to explain, I'll throw up pictures sometime later, or if someone really, really wants to see it.

Compared with stock, this kit/R2C filter makes the car sound WAY MEANER/DEEPER above 3k RPMs. Before I had installed this puppy, I would get a whistling noise at about 3k-4k RPMs for a little bit. Now there's more whistling, and also I get the intake suction noise now. All in all, I'm VERY happy that I took the risk in buying this filter with no other reviews out for the G35.

The butt-dyno also registered some gains after a few runs to let the ECU adapt a bit. Who knows what it will be like a week from now. Suffice it to say, my gas mileage for the next few fill-ups will be absolute crap.

Now... this strut tower bar on the other hand... I WANT!!

GJ Hazlett, I PM'd you.
