replaced my pads with the stoptech stage 2 kit that comes with metal master pads and the rear are squealing like hell.. took it back in to get it checked out and the mechanic said that the brembo pads don't come with shims from the factory.. is this true?

 

Never found oem shims to be very effective with any high metallic compounds.

Shims are individually designed and TUNED to function [supression] with just ONE pad compound and rotor grade level [hardness].

 

my oem pads had shims
