Rubbing/scraping sound from font left wheel after some hard driving

After pushing my g coupe hard for around 5 minutes, i start to hear a rubbing/scraping noise coming from my front left wheel area. The sound changes speed with tire speed, is not effected by clutch, and only makes the noise for around 1/8th to 1/4th of the wheels rotation. Also, the noise does not get any more pronounced if I make left or right hand turns. The weird thing is that this noise disappears after a few minutes of casual driving, so i'm assuming it is heat expansion/contraction related. This has only happened twice so far, but both times have occurred immediately after some hard driving on winding roads.

I was only able to find one other thread/post that seemed partially related, but it was thought to be a warped rotor, and did not come and go in the same manor.

Any thoughts as to the problem?
Thanks guys,
-Boog
