Yes I'm aware of the previous and current setups you're running. I just want to know if the OEM struts will lose their functionality with lowering springs and bigger wheels? I'm thinking about replacing my OEM non-sport shocks with either KYB or Tokico struts/shocks.

if you are replacing OEM why are you concerned?... Are you trying to determine if you should replace OEM?... How many miles or on your struts? I’d imagine since its an 03 and you’ve been on pro kits already (not sure how long) – it would be a good idea to replace them whether 17, 18 or 19…

As for whether it’s a “must” – I don’t know… when of the suspension experts would need to chime in (fwiw, I’d replace them – and did of course).

OP, remember that springs made for the Z will lower the G sedan 1" more than they will the Z.
