G35 suspension question (LOWERED on TEIN SPRINGS)
G35 suspension question (LOWERED on TEIN SPRINGS)
Hey any of you other guys lowered on springs with stock shocks? Mechanic told me I need to get a camber kit and for the front and rear and new shocks for my G which will cost a fortune. I already spent $700 on my brakes and was wondering if you guys are in the same situation? I am gonna go with WICKED camber kit on ebay. It seems like a brand name and good bang for your buck. For the springs I might go with Koni Yellows
Your probably going to need a camber kit and new shocks. The stock shocks will hold up for a little while, but they'll wear out. Dropping your car more than an inch will cause a change in geometry that the stock components just aren't designed for.

I've got an 04 G35 Coupe and put on Tein H-Tech springs almost 3 years ago now, still riding on stock shocks. No problems at all. I do need a camber kit though, which I'm looking into right now. I had really bad uneven wear on the front tires of my last set. Just got new tires put on so I'm going to correct the camber problem now. You only need a camber kit for the front, FYI.

I have Tein 350Z H-Techs and installed those with my stock struts up front and never had camber issues until they until the struts started to go out. I had about 78,000 miles on my stock struts when i installed the springs, so adding the lowering springs finally killed it. My camber was still dead-on factory specs after replacing them with new aftermarket Tokico HP shocks/struts. Most H-Tech owners will tell you that you don't need a camber kit with the H-Techs. I never needed one. I would definitely recommend replacing your stock shocks/struts though for better performance with the lowering springs.
If you want a low-cost alternative to stock shocks/struts with the Tein 350Z H-Tech lowering springs, I would definitely recommend Tokico HP Blues. Very affordable and much better than the stock shocks/struts. In fact, I called Tokico and they said the Tokico HP's are the exact same as the D-Spec shocks/struts, except the D-Specs are just adjustable. That's the only difference, you'll be paying the premium for the adjustability. So, if you are like me and want a comfortable daily driving performance suspension and not spend $500-$1000 on just shocks/struts, try the Tokico HP's. Good luck on whatever you choose.
