Akebono brake pads made big inmprovement in stopping power

I do a lot of city and canyon stop and go driving in Los Angeles. I just replaced my front OEM pads after 29k miles. The new pads are the Akebono ceramic. I immediately noticed an improvement in my stopping power. Well worth the $70 investment. I barely have to touch the brake pedal in city traffic to stop. The rear pads were replaced at 28K and are AXXIS ceramic.

Just my 2¢.

Bruce

ProACT or Street Performance? I had the SP's on my old car and they were great!

Too bad they don't have these for the "S" G's

Any Akebono pads for S models? I think I need new brake pads and want to replace all four.

^ non whatsoever. Right now the only aftermarket pads available for the S are Hawk HPS and Ceramics (The thing is, there are part numbers, but nobody seems to have them in stock) and the entire line of Carbotech pads, which are great, but are priced on the high side.

They have raybestos creamic brake pads out for the "s". I have them and must say they are better than the stock pads and leave virtually no brake dust!

So you replaced your used worn out oem pads with 29,000 miles with new pads and you are saying they perform better.

Perception due to doing something or spending money does not beat accurate scientific tests................just exactly how many feet and inches better do the new pads stop in a cold wet 60 mph panic stop than brand new oem pads?

Hear and see these types of comments all the time about brand new tires and brake pads, rotors, etc.

+1 but your average end user isnt going to be performing these tests.

Why people rear end other people............."average end user isnt going to be performing these tests".

They buy a performance vehicle then change parts to degrade performance in blissful ignorance.

Wow you just want to argue you dont pay attention.

I said your average person is not going to buy different sets of rotors/pads and try and do all these wet/dry tests. Yes, we get them god forbid we ever really have to use them in a certain situation but all go out pretending we are the writers for car and driver and take out our stop watches.

These car sites are supposed to be populated by the unaverage car owner. Those who care about vehicles not the average clueless Joe.
Those that study the engineering aspects of vehicle design and operation.
Those that are not fooled by Marketing lies and confusion.
Those that KNOW that Akebono is Nissan largest oem supplier of brake pads.
Those that know that every brake pad compound contains metallic and CERAMIC elements as part of the 20-30 components in a typical brake pad cake mix.
