coilover install
hey guys, i did some searching for a good diy for installing coilovers, but i couldnt find a good one (up to date with active pictures). the job seems fairly simple, but a good diy is always a big help. it doesnt seem like i will need a spring compressor. anyone know of a good diy for this?
You can use the spring/strut DIY, it will be about the same.
No you don't need a compressor unless you plan to separate your existing springs and struts. If you are going to store them, just keep them together.
It's easy work, just unbolt the existing parts, take them off and bolt on the new ones. You will have to guess at the height and play around until you get it where you want it. Remember they settle a bit so I usually keep mine ~1/2" higher than I want it to end up after installing the first time. Then after they settle you can adjust a little here/there.

awesome, thanks. i figure ill compare the new to the old and maybe set them a half inch lower than the stock ones, that way when they settle ill be about an inch lower or so.
