Anyone know of a BBK that will fit under OEM 17s?
Hey, as the title states I'm looking for a BBK that fits under OEM 17" stockers. I need them for my winter setup, and the dealer as well as myself thinks that my calipers are going out, and in the end it will probably cost me about the same to get a smaller less expensive BBK than it will to get new calipers rotors and pads.
The reason I think the calipers are shot is that I had the rotors and pads replaced two years ago when I bought the car, last year I replaced the pads, and this year the rear pads are already gone, rotors have hotspots, and the front rotors have gouges. I don't ride the brakes, even when I'm having some fun with the car, so I don't see how pads and rotors can wear out so fast. I know the gouges mean squat in terms of calipers, but the service manager who worked on my car was the first to bring up the idea of dying calipers, and when I told him about everything that I have replaced lately, he said that makes him really think it's the calipers. I'm hesitant to get used calipers, as I don't want the same thing happening again.
The other option I thought about was the Akebono brakes, but I would have to get at least OEM 18s to fit.

Any 03-04 and 05X calipers will work. Frankly the oem sedan 17s severly limit your brake choices. Although my 06 Z non-brembos clear my sedan 17s easy(close but easy). If you want a bbk THAT bad, buy what you want and move up to 350z 17s or coupe/Z 18s. You can find oem wheels w/ winter tires for cheap. Sell the oem 17s/tires to others tha are looking for winter beaters or to the older maxima crowd. Not sure wif your 19s you have now will clear bbks though
