Over 1" drop, 350z or G35 shocks?

Over 1" drop, 350z or G35 shocks?

Hey guys,

I have two sets of springs for my coupe (df210 and S-Techs) I am installing one of them this weekend (just havent decided which).

I am buying new shocks and struts. I'm going with Tokico HPs but I don't know if I should buy the 350z or G35 model. Ive done some searching and I believe the 350z is valved and shortened a little bit better.

Can someone else chime in?

I can't speak for the 350z shocks on a G, but I would think that if they were designed for the G they would work better on the G, and vise versa.

i would agree if all things stay stock but when you lower your G, the distance of travel for the shock is shortened. The Z's are a bit lower stock and so co. designs products that are a bit shorter.

I was looking to get Z shocks since im on df210. Can anyone confirm how the ride quality is with this set up?

^^^ I love the DF210s too!
Since I have to replace the shocks and struts and the prices are pretty much the same, I am leaning towards the 350z shocks.

It seems as though the 350z would work better due to the shorter compression.

Thanks I will... Just so I understand correctly, will the 350z shocks change the ride at all (as opposed to the same springs with g35 shocks). All my research shows that I SHOULD get 350z shocks but I am trying to understand what it will change, if anything.

Since the valving is not published for either from what I've seen its hard to say how different they will feel. If anything the 350z version will have more aggressive valving which may result in a slightly harsher ride but better handling overall. The major difference between the two is that the 350z application uses shorter shock bodies so with a drop the shocks will be closer to the center of the travel range, which will almost always have better dampening characteristics compared to shocks near either end of their travel. The 350z version will also likely last longer on a lowered car.

Just did the 06 350z complete set up on the sedan . road feedback much more noticeable . Car handles way better much tighter love it. Stick with the z shocks you'll be happy
