Going to have baby. Need quality ride.
Hey Guys, I know the g35 coupe is not the ideal car to take a baby in and thats why I have a suv. But on the rare occasion I do need to take the baby in my car I want a oem quality (or close to) ride but still be lowered.
Currently all I have is G35 tein S-tech springs. So I was either thinking about getting some tokico D-specs or just changing to a coilver setup. I dont have a lot of money to spend on springs but there are a lot of choices for well under $1000; Eibach Pro-Street S coilovers, Megan coilvers, H&R coiolvers, etc.
I realize some have adjustable damping and others dont. If the ones that dont have adjustable damping are as smooth as oem then I really dont care for adjustability.
Any help from dads and non dads is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Really? I thought it would be less stiff because coilover springs come with matching shocks. Right now i have lowered springs with oem shocks. Since the oem shocks arent made for lowered springs dont you think it would be stiffer then coilovers? sorry if that sounded confusing.
^^^ LOL! Wow... you need to read up on how a suspension works.
Higher spring rates need higher dampening; it will control the bounce. However, the higher spring rate will not compress as easily as a stock spring. A higher spring rate is harder to control because it want to bounce quicker. Because the shock has to react quicker and the spring doesn't want to compress, the ride becomes more harsh.
If you ever see a car bouncing quickly, the owner did what you did. He either got a higher spring rate, got a short spring, or did both on a stock shock. Shock cannot dampen the spring because of the higher spring rate, so the car bounces like crazy.
Just put the stock suspension back on or get bagged. Coilovers are not for you.

Avoid the Megan coilovers at all costs. The Eibach Pro-S might do what you want, they are relabeled Kw Variant 1 coilovers. I have shock dyno's for variant 2's and that setup when kept around the softer settings is pretty nice. The H&R setup is a unknown, I'd trust them way before I'd get the Megan product.
