12.6" Two Piece Rotors for 05+ G35/350Z - Feedback Needed

We have been receiving inquires and suggestions (especially from "Jeff92se") to make 12.6" two piece rotor available.

See Jeff92se's thread here:
For all those with the oem 12.6" front rotors 05+ G/Z and 06+ X. 2pc oem option

Also there is a thread on our forum: http://forums.racingbrake.com/showthread.php?t=251
Relating to the same subject.

The 12.6" (320x28mm) two piece rotor can fit many car applications other than the G35 and 350Z which has given us more reason to produce these rotors. We want to hear your opinions in order that we can make them available and what kind of finish you prefer.

Please provide us with your feedback by posting in this thread.

We offer 3 guarantees to anyone committed to this pre-order:

1. Performance Improvement Guarantee: Over your existing one piece or competitors' two piece rotors.
2. Lowest Price Guarantee: If you can find a two piece rotors (Regardless of their builds) from AP, Brembo, DBA, PFC, or Stoptech at lower price, we will match their price less 10%.
3. Delivery Guarantee: Once 20 orders and deposits are received you will receive a guaranteed delivery date

Order List:

1. majesticblue02 (slotted)

I would love some 2 piece rotors, but those are way too small

We want to know if we can get at least 20 pre-orders to commit to production. Pre-orders will get a very special price at $389/pair (free shipping in 48 states & slotted finish only for the first 5 orders) Leadtime is 10-12 weeks to ship.

So please indicate your interest here and we will contact you to pay deposit. If 20 pre-orders can't be reached this project will be cancelled.

It's a typical stock size for a rotor equipped wtih Brembo calipers, EVO, Sti, G35 Track and fits under 17" wheel. A lot of people use it as upgrade for older Nissan models.

Thanks

Good question. And people have told me that the 2pc rotors usually last a significant amount of time longer than their 1pc counterparts. Is this true?

WhosUrBuddiee,

You can buy replacement rings from us, once we have the two piece rotors available, the rings will be posted on our website.

Here's an example:
http://www.racingbrake.com/G35_Bremb...-03-311-01.htm

Pricing for the rings is TBD

But in general, owning our two piece rotor will be more cost effective for you. Instead of having to replace two entire rotors, you just need to replace the rings which are cheaper than the assembled two piece rotors.

Jeff92se,

The two piece rotors generally last longer because they are more efficient in cooling. The two piece design allows the rotors to expand and contract with less difficulty than a one piece rotor which puts less stress on it. This is due to our center mount hat design.

Here's two links for more information regarding our two piece rotors:
1) http://www.racingbrake.com/v/main/tw...p?display=back
2) http://www.racingbrake.com/v/main/tw..._assembly.asp?

There are a lot of RX7 guys that love our two piece rotors and have posted a review on their durability and quality. I'll see if I can dig some up and post links to them here.

Jeff,

Here's a link to RX7Club reviews for our two piece rotors and their durability:
http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=605463

This is basically the biggest and most viewed thread on ClubRX7 history. These are all reviews by the consumers.

How has interest been for this? Interest on the maxima forum has been light but that doesn't mean people haven't contacted you.

I could be very interested in this. What are our options going to be for the rears?
Regular slotted rears with open slots in the front only?

We have a one piece, slotted rotor for the rear, Part No. 9169-111. No plans for a two piece rear at the moment. We'd like to get this deal going first. If you're interested in purchasing the one piece front and rear you can either PM me or post in this thread: https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-...cingbrake.html
