New Brake Upgrade with Pics

Just got new brake upgrade installed on my 2004 G35x. Brakes are from RacingBrake. They fit my stock 17 inch wells. Front rotors are drilled and slotted with 4-pot calipers, steal lines and Hawk HPS pads. Rear have larger than stock rotors that are slotted. They use stock calipers, and also of course have steal lines and Hawk HPS pads. They're not broken in yet but what I feel right away is a whole lot more modulation, and a very nice feel. Much better so far than stock 2004 brakes. What you would expect given the money spent!

It was $1,400 something for front, and about $600 for the back.

I'm surprised the calipers clear the wheels looks good.

RacingBrake is also a vendor on here as well. To the OP, the rear brake calipers are stock? so just the rotors and pads were $600?

Congratulations "manbart" for your brake upgrade and wish you a lot of luck and enjoyment for years to come.

Do you 'DIY' or have shop install for you. If you did it yourself, can you share with other members how easy the process was.

In fact the kits you have chosen are the most popular and money worth brake upgrades for G35.

The total front and rear BBK still costs less than one front aluminum BBK others sell, yet maintain factory brake balance and integrity.

A shop installed it. As a DIY it would be quite a bit for me, and besides I recently fractured my elbow. The only thing the shop ran into is that at least on the front brakes I think the "backing" had to be trimmed for the the rotor to fit? Other than that it was straight forward. I like the brakes. They have much better modulation than the stock brakes had, and slowing down from high speed, like slowing down from say 80MPH on the interstate taking an exit you can get from something like 80MPH to 35 or 40 very quickly and smoothly. Also there's almost no brake dust accumulating. On the stock brakes the wheels were always full of it. Even after you cleaned them they'd be dirty within a matter of a few days.

I'm interested in picking up a set of these as well.

So what did you replace on the rear? Just the rotor and pads? that's the stock caliper right?

The front got the whole deal Caliper, pads, rotor?

Yes, the front got everything including a 4-pot larger caliper and a larger rotor that is drilled and slotted, Hawk HPS pads and steal brake lines. The rear got a larger slotted rotor steal brake lines, hawks HPS pads, and it uses the stock caliper but has a bracket that you put in there.

Nice. How does the kit affect the stock brake bias?
