Rear Brake Noise

While driving, if I pull the E-brake I hear a loud thud/crunch coming from the rear passenger side. Only happens if it's pulled while driving. I've checked the rotors for built up rust, checked the brake pads and even the brake piston for seize but no solution as of yet. If I do it, it goes away for a while (maybe 15 minutes) and then it repeats if I pull it up again. Im thinking its the piston, but dont want to bother jacking/removing and the likes of again. Anyone had a similar issue or suggestions?

The e-brake is inside the rear rotor hat. It's a drum style e-brake.

Sounds like you need to take it into a shop as the drum pad may be damaged.

Don't pull the ebrake when you are driving.
