Stance GR+ coils

Last night while adjusting the rear passenger coil to a stiffer setting (I was currently on 8) I noticed that it had become difficult to turn and after applying a little more hand torque the wire extender broke. Crap!! I had no idea I was turning it so hard, but why was it stuck in the first place?

I jacked up the car and took out the coil to inspect for damage and the adjusting **** on the top of the coil clicks indefinitely in both directions now. I have no idea if the damping is set to stiff or soft now since it just clicks forever. Other than that the coil works fine and is now back in the car, I just can't adjust it now.

Has this happened to anyone else before and how can I fix it?

BTW: yes I'm an idiot for braking it in the first place.
