I am interested in the Eibach progressive springs, and just don't know how the stock struts will hold up. Judging by spring rate it seems the Eibachs at their stiffest are just slightly stiffer than the linear oem springs. The last car I modded was an 07 GTI and it responded awesomely to a Koni spring swap and the stock struts were fine for the entire time I had the car, about 20k miles. But I had a WRX that blew out the stock struts within a month of spring change. I realize that even if the spring rates were the same the strut will be under more stress due to the difference in ride height.

Question is, will the struts perform with a mild drop and spring rate change such as with the Eibach pro's or will they fail? Im trying to plan a set amount of money into what I want to do with the car, so this will help me figure out what to plan on buying. Thanks
