What type of Brake pads do you recommend
Hey, I am about to order R1concepts Premium rotors. I am not sure what brake pads to get with these rotors. I want something that will last me a long time with low noise.
I heard on these forums people got Hawk HPS pads and loved them. Would these pads do me good? or should I get a cheaper brand like Posi Quiet (Extended Wear).
basically, I am mainly aiming for long life and low noise, so will hawk hps do me justice? or should I go with Posi Quiet (Extended Wear). or do you all recommend something else?

PS: I am gonna be installing these myself(first time).

HAWK HP's 90% less dust than OE pads, long lasting and they stop your G just like what your car came with. Check out our MARKETPLACE under vendor brakes, HAWK pads are on sale for a good price. Just as important as the pads is the break in/bed in process and only takes 15 minutes....do a SEARCH under subject....Hawk pad break in process. This will eliminate any noise usually associated with performance brake pads!

+1 that is kind of my impression with the hawks, i feel the brakes are softer and im not that comfortable with them that much. i would probably go back to oem as soon as they r finished

I've had really great results over and over with PosiQuiet pads of all kinds. Their patented shim design is second to none, and the pads are always quiet because the shim design is grease free.
I just ran 300 VERY HARD miles in a STEADY rain (Raging Bull Texas Stampede). HPS pads SUCKED *****. I love them otherwise, but in the rain, they sucked. Of all the pads I have had (05' OEM, EBC "green stuff", and Hawk HPS), I like the OEM pads the best. They have very little dust and had great cold/rain stopping power. That's what I'm going with next time.
If I can also offer a bit of advice; CHANGE YOUR BRAKE FLUID AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR!!!!
I can't tell you how many people I have seen that had their brakes "go away" in the twisties because of this simple thing. If there is water in your brake fluid and your brakes get hot, IT WILL BOIL AND MAKE STEAM, and steam will NOT stop your car.
