Lowering and wheels

Hi guys,
I have an '06 Coupe Auto w/ Sport Suspension and 19" OEM rims.
I would love to lower mine for about 1-1.5" and want a new set of 20" wheels. From what I've got from my friend who also owns another coupe, he put 20" on and the VDC light came on. But I've read other threads and pple who had theirs on 20" didn't have a problem with the VDC (Installer's mistakes not connecting the sensors?)
Would you please help me find the good set up for the suspension (on the budget) but I really don't mind about the rims. I'm looking for either WORK or VOLK. Since the stock OEM 19" are not flushed with the fender, what would be the appropriate width for the 20" rims and tires without messing up the car's handling?
Thanks a bunch.

P.S: I don't like putting spacers also so please help me with the rims and tires width. Thanks again.

Uhh... let's see... you can choose from three of these. I think going springs is much cheaper if you're in a budget than going full coilover set up. Most of the people here I see use Tanabe... Heck, I still have mine but I haven't had the time to install it!
