Brembo upgrade.

I want to purchase, a Brembo brake kit that a member on another forum has up for sale. My first question is, would it fit an 07 coupe sport version? Second, I recently upgraded to stoptech rotors and Hawk pads;would they be usable with the Brembo upgrade, or would I need Brembo rotors and pads? The seller specified, the Brembo kit utilizes larger rotors then the stocks that comes with the G.

I would appreciate your knowledgeable insight

Yes the 03-04 stick brembo kit will work for your 07 coupe. My understanding is that you cant use the 07 coupe size rotors for the brembo kit. It uses different size rotors w/ the Calipers. So you would need to purchase Brembo calipers. You can buy aftermarket rotors and pads or get the brembo ones. Also you need to purchase new rear bolts to mount the rear calipers. They are a different thread.

The Brembo brakes use larger rotors than what came on the 2007 coupes. The 2007 uses F:12.6" x 1.1" and R:12.1" x .63" rotors, while the Brembo equipped coupes use F: 12.76" x 1.118" / R: 13.07" x .866". You will need new rotors and new pads.

You might need new mounting bolts for the front calipers too.

That's incorrect:

http://infinitihelp.com/models/2007/...ifications.htm

2005-2007 rotors are:
Front: 12.6-inch x 1.1-inch power-assisted vented disc
Rear: 12.1-inch x 0.63-inch power-assisted vented disc

FSM for 2004 Brembo-equipped coupe shows:
Front: Rotor outer diameter × thickness 324 × 30 (12.76" × 1.18")
Rear: Rotor outer diameter × thickness 322 × 22 (13.07" × 0.87")

Brembo rotors are bigger in every aspect.

Thanks fellas for the info, it's much appreciated. Unfortunately, I am going to have to pass on the Brembo, because the caliper alone are $1K, which is a good price, then another 600 for Brembo rotors and pads. If I didn't recently change my rotors and pads, I would of definitely purchased.

For what it's worth, you can get new high quality rotors to fit the Brembos for <$300 al around. Centric Premium rotors from rockauto.com or Tire Rack are an excellent alternative to OEM, and they are electro-coated so they don't rust.

I have them on my Brembo coupe and love them so far.

Might want to get the calipers now and put them on when you wear down the new rotors/pads you just bought.

I just went through this on my 07 coupe. The OE master cylinder on the 06-07 cars is different than the earlier cars that offered a Brembo option. It's a very small short piece compared to the earlier ones. I didn't figure this out until the calipers were installed and the pedal would go to the floor. It just doesn't have the fluid displacement to actuate Brembo calipers. I swapped to the actual Brembo master cylinder and all was good. This unfortunately required changing the booster and lines to the ABS pump. That stuff was aquired at the junkyard, any 03-05 sedan/coupe with standard brakes will do. The master cylinder I ordered new online.

Quick tip on booster removal, 12mm 1/4" deepwell socket and long 12" wobble extension is your friend for nuts on the inside.

I don't know about that, I helped a guy with a brembo swap on his 2005 (never had the brembo option in '05) and his worked fine.

I was under the impression the MC was not an issue, otherwise doing things like a 6 piston race caliper upgrade wouldn't work, but it does.

If you have the air bled properly there's nothing to displace, pedal stroke doesn't need to supply volume since hydraulic fluid that fresh is so densely packed molecules. All it's doing essentially is providing a VERY minor displacement to provide pressure.
