Rear Camber Kit Didn't Work.. HELLLPPPP

Ok about 6 months ago i made a thread on here about inner tire wear on my rear tires.. I have 20inch Nitto cant remember the model right off bat but i do have a staggered set. Neways I was told that i defenitaly needed rear camber kits so I ordered the front and rear Iachiba<< most likely spelled wrong>>> kit. Now it's 5 to 6months later with brand new nittos that cost around $640 for 2 rears, the tread is showing again. What can i do now i have the camber kits installed with a alignment and it still did the same thing.

I really dont want to go back to stock, I've had many compliments about the car and really dont want to change it.. But i cant keep dishing out 600 every 5 months.. The front tires show no wear. Ne ideas would be appreciated..
Spaces, springs, shocks, lowering i will consider all just to stop the wear.:dunno:
Thanks:JAMIN:

Did the rear camber kit come with adjustable toe bolts?

petesg35 Mar 4, 2010 07:37 PM

Sounds like the toe is out of wack

If your tires are feathered as if the tire was pointing inward or outward like your feet its definately toe.http://www.aa1car.com/library/toe_animation.gif

I agree with the toe theory -- i had a very similar problem running through 2 sets of brand new rear tires in less than 11,000 miles... my car has RAS so when the camber kit was installed, the original shop did not dremel out the toe bolt area and install the bolts - when i took my car in for an alignment, the shop fixed that issue and i haven't had any issues since.

Thx for all the fast responses... I'm not sure if the kit came with the tie bolts... What shop can I take it to that will align it right.. Firestone.. Other professional shops? Will I need to buy another kit? Basically yall are saying my whole tire isn't touching the pavement? Once again thx for all the fast responses..

All you need are toe bolts which you can buy here on Driver on our MARKETPLACE under vendor suspensions. Find an independent brake/alignment shop in your area and discuss with them your need to have the toe bolts installed. They'll come with instructions that will show where the bolt holes need to be elongated. Upon installation you can get your G aligned and tire worries should be over.... Firestone/Sears/GoodYear/Dealerships....No Way!!

^Agreed 110%. My mom took her SUV to Firestone for a simple oil change about a year ago. The tech drained the oil, replaced the filter, and never put oil back in it. My mom, not knowing any better, didn't check and completely blew the engine going down the highway. Firestone took responsibility for it thank god. FIRESTONE = NO GO

Are the toe bolts universal or do I have to matchthem up with my rear cambers? I will buy some today if not too expensive.

Go to brake check. I think they have those in the Houston area...

Toe bolts aren't that much really. Hit me up if you haven't gotten any yet and I can see if I can get you some at a good price

Also, where did you get the rear camber kit? Ichiba does come with toe bolts...

seems like your toe is off... you might need to get toe adjustable link (toe arm) to correct that. I do have a new set at home that i dont need and it was never installed. i bought it for it like 160+ and i dont need it now. i can sell it to you for a lot less plus free shipping, ill give you a good deal. let me know if you want it.
