replacing brake caliper/ dragging noise from dead stop

Hi,

2005 G35x. Recently got my front brakes and rotors replaced. Been starting to experience a bit of "dragging" when I am at a complete stop, foot on the brake (red light). When I let my foot off the brake, the car (instead of rolling forward in this case, automatic transmission), it "drags" on for a bit, doesn't want to go, as if my E-Brake was on. It happens from time to time, and I took it back to the shop to have them check, thinking maybe the new brake rotors were not right.

They told me it's my rear brake caliper, driver side. The wheel wasn't even spinning when they jacked it up. Is that possible? Again, I have no speed issues when I was driving, only noise (dragging noise) was when I go from a complete stop, for about 3 seconds..

Any idea?

could be your e-brake. The E-Brake is a brake shoe and uses the brake rotor hat as a brake drum inside the wheel hub, it may be stuck. Or you may have a stuck caliper.

Hey - kind of new member here - I have an '04 Coupe and I recently began experiencing similar symptoms, including a burning smell coming from the left rear wheel well. I'd be surprised if no one else has experienced a stuck caliper, are there are individual components of the caliper that may need replacing or does this typically require the entire caliper to be replaced? Thanks.
