Best Roters For the Price?

I have an 03 with Brembo and I am looking to get a better bite when I go to brake. I have a very tight budget to upgrade. I am looking at the drilled/slotted rotters. Looking to spend about $450 for the set of 4.

Is there a big difference in rotors when talking about a limited budget? Is it worth it... will I feel a difference?

I am going with project Mu type NS brake pads too.

I am looking for knowledge about rotors for our cars not opinions.

Thanks,
- Eric

Go to rockauto.com and get the Centric Premium rotors of your choice. Same rotors used by powerslot and stoptech, but a little lower priced. I just got mine last weekend and they look great, I hope to put them and my new pads on next weekend. I went with Stop-Tech Performance Street (309 series) pads as opposed to the typical Hawk HPS which I have already tried. The ST pads were $128-shipped via ebay.

I just checked it out and I did not see cross drilled for the Brembo setup. Do you know if it is offered?

You are correct, slotted only for the Brembo coupe, but you can get slotted and drilled rotors for the brembo coupe as well from the Royalty manufacture. If you dont like whats there, try R1concepts, they offer a lot of rotors as well.

good luck!

These do look nice! I will have to look into them more.

There is a pretty good price difference in the "Eline" and the "Premium" what is the difference? Is it worth the extra money... I do like the center being black, it will go with my black wheels.

Keep 'em coming!

Initial bite is based on the brake pad you use, not the rotor. So if you want great initial bite you need to research brake pads. OEM pads actually have very good initial bite, but fade quite easily. I use axxis ultimates on my Z. They bite very hard, especially when warm.

Has anyone used the Project Mu type NS brake pads? Do they have a good bite and what about the fade?

How is the fade on the axxis? And what about the noise and dust?

I'm looking into the same thing on my 04 brembos. I researched pads. Way too many mixed reviews on the hawk pads. Pads I found good reviews on for bite and fade were the Project Mu NS.

For the rotors, DRT-sport offers same exact stuff R1 offers, but cheaper. They all buy centric rotors. The DRT-sport have powder coated hubs which are better than the zinc plating on the R1. Same knife slot, same chaffered holes, same manufacturer rotor.

They offer a ebay special with 4 Premium drilled slotted Rotors, Posi quiet pads, 5.1 Dot Fluid and stainless lines for $560.

or can get a la carte at their website. www.drt-sport.com

Looking at the 2 piece Project Mu Rotors I saw on the sticky in the brake section. Looks like they may be expensive though.

I just ordered my stuff last week.

I went with the StopTech Performance Pads. Same ratings as the Axxis Ultimate but less dust and noise. I only found that out after researching when the company I originally ordered the Axxis from said they are on back order and it will be mid JUNE until I get them! So I called a couple of places and they also said it is back ordered. So I went with StopTech Performance Pads. I think in the end I got the better pad... we will see.

For the rotors I did go with the R1 concept Cross-Drilled & Slotted. I am getting everything in on Monday 3.29.10.

Hope to install this coming week and I will keep you posted on how this setup performs.
