What's up? I just got back from infiniti... I did My 60k servicing... Now They Are Telling me I Need Compression Rods... They said it would cost me $900...I Researched the compression rods and found g35driver talking about the same issue... Some ppl On here spent less then a $100 and fixed the issue... Which is it? I own a 04' 35x... I want a second opinion... Can You Give Me A List Of Shops In The North Jersey Area??? Any Positive Info Would Be Greatly Appreciated... Thanks

you can buy the part which is like 30ish dollar each if im correct and u need to get a compressor to compress the rods in, some shops can do this for you.

loyali5t- the stealership will try to fvck you out of your money whenever possible. Knowing this will help you save money and hassle in the future. You should buy the parts from the dealership, and take them to a shop that specializes in infiniti/nissan cars and have them fix the issue. Should be significantly cheaper than the dealership option.

You can purchase the bushings for under 100, and remove the arms yourself. You'll need to press the bushings on though.

I beleive the arms complete are around $200 or so each. Some dealerships have a "entire arm only" policy and won't change only the bushings. I know mine is like that. After nissan revised the TSB to replace the bushings only, my dealer still replaced the entire arm instead.

Of course, even if it's $500 in parts (dealer cost), i don't see where the $400 in labor would come from. Assuming $80/hour, that's 5 hours to replace the comp rods?

Just got mine replaced by my non dealer mechcanic for $355.00 parts and installed. He mentioned when he got the part from the dealer he had to go back for an additional part for the control arm that the dealer didn't give him the frist time that ended up costing another $100 bucks. Must say I was pretty happy to make the clunking go away for only $355.00. I would have to agree that your dealer is a$$ raping you.

thats for sure, he was planning on getting you with your pants on, 900 for bushing is crazy.
but if u do decide and want to replace the whole arm, buy from riverside, think it be like 400ish bucks for both and should just be PandP

Where can you buy just the bushings??? What will happen if I dont fix the issue and live with the clunking noise???? Will it cause alignment issues?
