If you want to be low, and have a smooth ride, you're gonna have a tough time spending little money to achieve that...

Maybe post your absolute max budget. Quite honestly, cheaping out on coilovers ends up being an expensive mistake because you end up with two sets!

Save up for quality coilovers. From feedback, when the time comes I'm going for Form and Function Type 2.

1000 bucks.

Unless prices jumped since I got mine $1k seems like too much imo, if I was going up into that price bracket I would rather spend a bit more and get some stances.

You'd be better off going with springs. Maybe some S-Techs, Eibach Pro Kit, or some H&R's or something like that.

With springs, you probably won't need a camber kit. Quite possibly a rear kit, but it all depends on what springs you get.

You don't want comfort, you want slammed. End of story, or else just go weak sauce and get some springs.

Is the quality noticeably different? Or features?

In all seriousness you will have to spend a little more than the F&F or the BC coils if you want a comfortable ride. I bought the Tanabe Pro 5 series and they ride very well. Smooth and comfortable but you definitely can't slam your car with these coils.

Thanks for that.

My drop will be rather conservative but my primary concern is ride quality and rather easy adjustability in dampening for any track/mountain run days. I don't want or need to drop 3K on coils but if they're worthwhile and very solid construction, I'd have no problem saving and dishing out the cash in the right direction.

I got mine from B2autodesigns and they were less than $1200. Here are some pics of the drop on my car. They only had about 1/2" left to drop in the front and back.

If this is a huge point for you either go for a more expensive tein set with edfc, or go for some of the coilovers which have the rear dampening adjustment at the bottom of the strut rather than tucked up into the interior of the car. Adjusting dampening is quite annoying if you have to jack up your car, take of the wheel, unbolt the strut, take it out and adjust, and then put everything back.

Unless you get coilovers with extensions to adjust, but I have heard mixed reviews about those...

That's a good point Xet. I have the reclining back seats in my car so I can adjust the rears w/o dropping the strut.

Errr... do you have a sedan? If so ya you can do without the special features, but coupes it is locked in a little welded box for some well thought out reason.
