Extremely bad ride in my G
Extremely bad ride in my G
Hey guys,
I currently have Tokico HP Blues + Tien H-Tech springs on my G with 19'' stock rims.
From spring till now, i've noticed the ride in my G has gone to absolute crap, to the point where it feels like an adventure every time I step foot into my G.
Every bump I hit I get bump steer.. and I've always had slight bump steer in the G but its extremely bad now. I do believe my front rims may be bent at this point which could be one of the culprits of the bump steer, however during the summer I had them fixed and I still had a decent amount of bump steer.
I've also noticed that as of the last week, when I shift into reverse and steer my vehicle, I can feel a slight grinding, and when I parked it in my garage and slightly reversed and turned I heard a bit of a squeal.
I also have a single nismo sway bar in the rear, and have not had the front sway bar installed.
Could my step-up be the culprit, I'd really enjoy my G more if the ride more comfortable.

Suspension work on a G35 will result in a harsher ride. Most people notice it, but i've gotten to the point where I don't even notice it nor do I mind anymore. So when people say their ride quality has gone to absolute crap, I think they're exaggerating. When I hit a bump, the steering wheel does tend to shake, but thats why you have your hands on it.
I'm on 12kg/12kg zeals front and rear and the ride is fvking horrible, and I even bounce around on flat ground. Bump steer isn't that bad. I just learned to grip the wheel firmly when I see cracks to keep the car straight.

So I think while the cars parked for the winter I want to invest in comfort for the G - any suggestions on the best route to take? I don't need my car dumped super low, I like it right now lowered by a inch - 1 1/2inch.
Any suggestions on my question about when I go into reverse? Could my axle or whatever need a lube job?

Well initially everything felt fine for me.. so I'm not sure if there's something else going on or if it is just the combo i've installed... but the first year I had the H-Techs installed the car drove and felt like butter so not sure where everything "went wrong".

I haven't done a whole lot of poking around yet... mainly because I figure if I do its going to cost a whole lot of cash haha
Hopefully its the springs or something so I can give myself an excuse to buy coilovers

And to the OP, you can always buy coils and see if that fixes it
