Help with tires/brakes for 2005 sedan.

So, I'm not too knowledgable about cars, but I need new tires and my brakes recently started squeaking.

Regarding brake pads:
I assume I need new brake pads for the squeaking? I've had the car for about 30k miles and they just started squeaking. I looked on tirerack and hear the akebono ones are good?

Regarding tires:

I'm clueless. Do I need 2 different sized tires for front and back? either way, what size tires do I need? I'm looking for an all around tire that won't break the bank. Basically whatever is the consensus on best bang for the buck. I plan on using tirerack for tires and brake pads.

Anyways, if anyone can point me in the right direction. I'd appreciate it.

TIA

I would start by searching here https://g35driver.com/forums/wheels-tires-25/

If you are just replacing the tires with the same size that you currently have the tire size is written on the sidewall.

Check your current tire sizes by checking the sidewall; write those down.

Next, plug your make, model and year into the tire finder on TireRack.com.

Make sure the numbers match up. If they do (and they should, unless you got after market rims), search through the tires on the site and check out some of the reviews. I don't typically buy budget tires, so I can't make much of a recommendation there. However, I was impressed with the Goodyear Eagle's that came with my car, and they're typically priced fairly. See if those line up with your budget/needs. In my experience, you want to stay far away from anything made by Dunlap/Toyo (Toyo isn't sold on TireRack anyways).

Good luck.

Brake pads- I've used Akebono for years with good results. I have their high performance street pads on my '97 max. Excellent initial bite. I put Raybestos ATC pads on my wifes '05 Max. They seem similar to the Akebono hiperf. pads. I plan on putting the raybestos pads on my G in the spring.

Tires- Best all season is probably Conti's DWS if you see snow.

There are many reasons for brakes to squeak. New pads may or may not fix the problem. The service manual says pads don't have to be replaced until the friction material is 2mm or less. I'm happy with my original 05-06 OEM pads at 55k miles.

If you have OEM wheels, then you can find the correct tire size listed on the driver's door jamb. There is no guarantee that the tires you have on now are the stock size, so I wouldn't just read the sidewall to get the size.
