The 70,000 Mile Blues
The 70,000 Mile Blues
Greetings,
I am just another G35 driver looking to cure the 70,000 mile blues in my 04 coupe…
I ordered my lower control arms and ‘strut rods’ from infinitipartsusa.com for a total of $748.00. (Bakersfield, CA Infiniti wanted $1,200) The ‘strut rods’ have been referred to as compression rods and even transverse links but the Infiniti Online diagram calls them strut rods…
But before I switch them out I’d like to order some shock absorbers…or struts…
I understand that the Tokico HPs are suitable replacements and that they are just fine with the OEM springs. This came as great news: a quality product at a very reasonable price.
Then if I want a stiffer ride, I should go for the Tokico D-specs. Correct me if I’m wrong but the general consensus seems to be that the Tokico D-specs are pretty bitchin.
My question is… Can I use the original springs with the D-specs?

Unless the ball joint thing in them is bad, you just need the bushing.
I recommend replacing the the transverse link bushings as well while you're in there. The whiteline bushings are also about 50 for the pair.
Hope this helped... I hope you can return your arms. It sounds like the 750 would be the transverse links AND the compression rods, right? Please don't tell me compression rods are 350/ea.
