will oem brembos fit on oem 05-06 sport stock rotors?

My homie maybe selling their oem brembos,

and I wanted to know if I can just buy his calipers and install them on my 05 sedan sport.

I know my rotors are 12.8 inches, I think the oem brembos are 13.

I know there is a lot of the rotor that isnt used on mine, reason being I wanted to know if this will work is that I just purchased new drilled/ slotted rotors for my car, and the ones off his will need to be re surfaced.

It should also be a direct swap right? I dont need to use his oem brake lines?
thanks!!!

Brembos require different rotors. I don't think the calipers will work with your stock rotors.

Nope. You'll need new rotors. Brembos are larger diameter and thicker.

Here are the specs:

'03-04 Brembo setup: F: 12.76" x 1.18"; R: 13.07 x 0.87

'05-06 Sedan setup: F: 12.6 x 1.1; R: 12.1 x 0.63

Word on the street is the 06 brakes are better than the Brembos. Don't get me wrong, for the right price I would switch mine just because they look cool and my bike has Brembos.

damn really?

thats sad, i figured i wouldn't get much of a upgrade, but I thoght it would be atleast the same lol.

just the stock stuff looks lame. I guess it depends on the price I can get it, because ake's are cheap and i may spring for the upgrade.

Says who? I've seen no braking data to back that up. And having driven both, I like the feel of the Brembos much better. They are easier to modulate and are have a firmer feel.

Brembos have a lot more bite but fade and wear out faster.

g35frompa,

did you drive a 06 and brembo or a 04 and brembo?

I drive my friends 03 and my cars pedal is smoother and bites harder than theirs, their brakes are like either on or off, hard to modulate.

Also I roasted my first set of rotors, in the canyons, on 84, I couldn't even make it half way down until i lost almost any braking power.

I upgraded my pads and rotors now I make it 3/4th of the way down, but still not good enough.

I think the brembos look good, and for the right price Ill get them, other wise ill go ake's, but if they are truly worst then there is no reason for me to down grade.

Ferrari, Porsche and Ducati all come with Brembos... Just stay away from the canyons.

Not sure where you're getting this from. My Brembos have never faded on me, even in hard auto-x use. I've never pushed an '06 to fade level, but I felt they had decent bite, but were not as easy to modulate as the Brembos, and didn't feel as firm to me.

There is no such animal as an '06 w/Brembos. The Brembos were discontinued after '04. I am comparing my '04 w/Brembos to an '06 with stock brakes (which are upgraded from '03-'04 non-Brembo cars). I agree, the non-Brembo '03 and '04 brakes were like on-off switches, but that is not at all the case w/the Brembos. They modulate like proper high-perf brakes should. though keep in mind, the Brembo-equipped cars also had slightly different diameter MC's and different brake boosters, so that contributes slightly to feel.

i was referring to what cars you were compared, I know that on 05-06 in G35 there were no brembos, in 350z they still had it.

I wanted to know if you were comparing a 03-04 brakes to the brembo set up

or comparing 05-06 to brembos...

but you answered the question now, thanks. I do everything on my car for performance, but ive spent enough, and just want it to look cleaner, so i was thinking about cheaping out on brembos for the look, and as long as they perform a little bit better than my 05's ill be happy
