2003 G35 Creaking noise RETURNS!!

About a year ago my car would make a creaking noise, which was coming from the rear, and doing research on this site led me to believe it was the rear Xbrace behind the rear seat. The noise would only come while making SLOW RIGHT turns and didnt matter if it was over bumps. So I took the seats out, and tightened the xbrace bolts, which seemed to be a bit loose and applied thread locker. The noise was still there for about a week and then went away. I assumed it took a while for the thread locker to correctly dry/seat.

Fast forward to now and the noise has returned. Seems to be coming from the outside and also while making slow right turns. Doesnt do it first thing in the morning. Its only after the car has been driven for a bit is when the sound comes. So I have some questions, first, can the Xbrace get loose again? Does the Xbrace noise sound like its coming from the outside? Is it actually the Xbrace making the noise or is it something else in the suspension.

After driving the car for a bit, and after it makes the noise, I will park and get out and it creaks. I jump up and down in the car and it will creak from the rear drivers side area. The noise sounds like an old ship or state coach. Actually worse than a stagecoach. Seems like as I turn right, car rocks slightly side to side and thats when the sound comes. I also suspect the sway bar end links as some people have had that issue as well. I dont want to throw money at it (which I dont have) and start replacing everything that can make noise.

My xbrace squeaks after replacing all of the struts. The change from squishy to stiff has made a lot of things squeak that didn't before. (Double entendre anyone?) The noise is not audible outside of the car.

Lithium spray on all the piviot points is always a nice place to start before you begin replacing expensive parts.

The other thing the guys that installed my shocks mentioned was that the lower connection point on both rears was really "wallowed out". They had some difficulty getting it to go back together without being too sloppy. I could imagine that would make a periodic creaking noise. Frankly, my car did and does make a lot of suspension noises. Kind of embarrasing at times but hard to hear over the whine of my AC compressor.

Drives a lot better with the new dampers though.

Found the problem

My G was doing the same, so I go to a lub shop and lubricate and grease everything in the suspension. I have the rear camber arms ( megan alike , dont remember the brand now ) squeaking like hell. It squeaks when I enter the car, a speed bump and when you turn left or right ( in my case both sides ) in a slope like entering my home carport. It sounds like a "clakk clakk clakk"(lol ). Try lo lubricate it my self but FAIL.

Once I lubricated all, squeaks are gone. I also have Hotchiks sway bars, GT spec lower center brace and strut bar with Teins CST shocks . Hope this helps

Anything????
My car just recently started making the same noise.
I'm thinking bushings or swaybar. Honestly I don't know anything about suspension. All I know is that the sound makes me nauseous and I keep throwing up in my G.
heelp!

Tighten the cross member support bars underneath. I hear they come loose sometimes.

I have the exact same noise and it has become progressively worse over the past year since replacing my high end Turanza tires with a lower cost, stiffer side-walled Kumho tire.

2004 Sedan with Sport suspension...

It occurs at almost every speed and sounds more like sheet metal twisting as opposed to suspension creak (I have had those as well).

I want to say it's coming from behind the seat, or up in the rear package tray.

Note that when two average sized adults sit in the back, it disappears.

However, when just one smaller individual, like my son sits back there, it persists.

I seem to recall a thread on here where someone tracked it down to the X-Brace and came up with a fix.

Ya - that sounds like the x-brace to me. I removed my seats and tightened it up yesterday. Unfortunately that wasn't mu problem.

I changed the endlinks and it fixed the issue. No more noise!
Was this easy to change? How much were the parts?

Thanks!

The rear endlinks are about $27 each from the dealer. The Fronts are roughly double?

I replaced the rears at about 60k miles, and am now replacing the fronts at 93k during my shocks/struts install.

I used Infinitipartsonline via Ebay as they were about $30 cheaper than the dealer.

Question about the XBrace X-Brace X Brace (it's spelled 3 different ways on here, so the threads are tough to find).

Once you get the bottom seat out (pull the release mechanism on both sides) then remove the top portion[s] of the seat (2 14mm bolts on the bottom on both sides) you are left with a thick black mat held in place with those black plastic clips.

Are the 4 bolts for the XBrace X-Brace X Brace under the mat ? If so, what is the best way to remove those clips without breaking them?

Wow. Tightened the 4 bolts that secure the X Brace on both sides (under the top of the black insulation) and the creaking noise that has been driving me insane for 4 months is completely gone.

All 4 bolts were loose and needed to be tightened. What would I do without this discussion forum :-)

Based on the frequency of posts related to this subject, dealers should know this is an issue and offer a service level to repair.

I'm getting this creaking right now on my '03 sedan. I originally thought there was something lose with my rear suspension as it's constantly making this noise when the car is moving. It even creaks when I get in the car, so something is definitely lose. I've already ordered the rear endlinks just in case, and will check on the X-brace bolts soon as well. Btw, I'm lowered on the G/Z suspension.
