torque down after sway bar installation

i installed my hotchkis sway bars and torqued down the nuts that hold the bushing brackets and endlinks WHILE the car was still in the air.
Was i suppose to torque down after i lower the car on a ramp?
When i was tightening down the bracket nuts, i noticed that i can slide the bracket back and forth which changed the angle of the endlink. Do i slide the bracket so that the endlinks are perpendicular to the ground? I tried but they were still angled.

thanks in advance.

Did you tighten the nuts on the bracket in the order indicated in the service manual? If you didn't it can make a difference of hot it sits but I am not sure if this is related to your issue.

And I think you can have the car off the ground for this.

you mean the front bracket? I didn't even know there's a pattern to it.. -_-
For the front, i torqued down when it was raised. For the rear, i loosed back the nuts on the bracket, lower the car, and torqued down the nuts.

Yep, I was referring to the front bracket but it might be the case for the rear as well, I never looked at it.

If you have access to the FSM, then have a look, the 4 screws on each bracket should be tightened in a specific order, otherwise the bracket will still go against the bushing but not at the same angle or as flush. If you don't have access, I can post a link tomorrow from work where I have it bookmarked.

rear bracket has only two nuts.
Could you link it to me tomorrow? I didn't feel anything weird during test drive.

Is it recommended that you remove the endlinks first before removing the brackets?
