What affects camber?

What affects camber? Does ride height affect it?

Why I asked this is bc I got some work done to my suspension and I went to go get it align and the sheet read that I was running

-1.8 on the driver side front
-3.8 on the passenger front

Now thats really off! Im lowered on coils and I have SPC front camber arms and they are maxed out to positive!

I thought maybe it was the ride height in the front that was off causing the camber to be off... I measured the height and it was reading about 25'' (ground to top fender) on one side and about 25.45'' on the other...

Could that be the cause of why the camber is off by so much?

messure ur ride height with urself or someone of same weight in the drivers seat, it may be even then, but ur camber should not be out by that much, get it aligned by someone who knows what thr doing.

If you're on coils id recommend getting spc rear w/ toe bolts. And if you really have SPC front arms and the people can't get it back in spec they are dumb. Like the fellow member above me said go to someone who knows their stuff.

Well what Im confused about is how the camber is way off. Im talking about the fronts only. Not the rears. Rears are good.

Like the SPC front arms are maxed out on both sides. How can the camber be so off? Ride height is about even almost on both sides. Maybe off by half an inch... but how can half an inch cause such a big gap from the both sides of the camber.

Im think they know what they are doing.

Toe and Caster are all good for the front. Its the Camber thats way off, and the only way to fix that is to adjust the arms to more positive. Both sides are maxed out to positive.

Im thinking maybe its the ride height (driver 25.45'' & passenger side 25'') in front thats off causing more negative camber on one side. (driver -1.6 & passenger -3.8)

Is there more adjustment to the SPC front camber arms that Im not aware of?

The only thing I know that is adjustable is the camber for the front arms. Is there something else that could be adjusted to get more positive camber?

take ur car to a shop that knows what they are doing. That's the best advice I can give you, you should be able to get ur camber back in spec if you have camber arms.

Yeah im pretty sure that what I referred to on the video is whats causing it to be off.

for example this guy refers to it at 10:10.

Has your car been in an accident?
What work did you have done on the suspension? If you were good before the "work" was done and bad after, take the car back to that shop and have them figure it out.

I'm lower than you, have spc kit (w/o shims installed), and I am either in spec or very close to it. You need to take it to somewhere where they know what they're doing

Yeah I was good before. The thing that happened was the front passenger A arm got loose and I had to take it to a quick shop so that they could max it back out again bc thats where it was at to be in spec. BUT while he was doing it he loosen up the entire whole nut where the offset was. After that my RAS/SLIP/ABS/VDC lights all came on so I took it to my dads auto shop where my dad and I worked on it trying to figure out what caused the light to be on.

Dad fixed the problem but once I got my car back I notice the camber was real off on the passenger side. I usually do the camber for the front before I take it firestone bc adjusting the camber at my height is actually difficult. You have to drop the A arm a lot lower to reach the adjuster and it causes for more labor time which cost more money. I have life time alignment. But back to the story, I usually just pull it in or out to adjust the camber but I never had fiddled with the offset of the caster/camber. I never knew there was that. Installing the arms, I dont remember if I set the offsets equally. It kinda explains why its off so much on one side even though they are both maxed out to positive. Height isnt really that off. So therefor the only thing I can think of now is the offset of the camber. Makes sense bc the vehicle has never been in an accident.

could they have missed a torn bushing?
I had firestone do my alignment and I crawled under there a couple weeks later and one of my lca bushings was totally gone.. it could have happened after the alignment, but I doubt it
