Clunking Noise from Suspension, Video Inside
Alright guys my first post here, I read up a-lot rather than post anything because most of the time I can find the answers. I cant seem to figure out what is making the "clunking" noise you hear in the video. Its NOT the compression rod bushings, I have already gotten those changed out. It seems to happen every time I go over any sort of bump on the road. Video below:

Any help is greately appreciated.

Its driving me insane as well, I cant STAND it. Also just to ADD i did have lower ball joints changed out less than a year ago.
i recently had my bushings replaced and new control arms installed and i had an odd clicking sound, not quite as violent as yours. but in case it does help, my mechanic found out a shim from the control arm was rubbing. shaved it down, and no noise.
update! So I also tried re adjusting the suspension after my 350z spring install (jack up the suspension with the side a-arm bolts loose and tighten them) no luck. I had found this video online:
Checked on my drivers side and had the issue so i followed this DIY:

And changed my driverside Tie Rod, the noise is lesser but still present. My passenger side Tie Rod does not make the noise in the video above. Tommorow morning I will be checking my endlinks... Does anybody have any more suggestions? I was thinking abou changing the passenger side Tie rod as well, but not too sure. I might just check the endlinks and go for an alignment... BLAH its so irritating.

I too have a suspension clunking noise. 2004 2dr 6mt. It is coming from the passenger rear wheel. It only really happens at lower speeds. There is an inconsistent rattling and thud type noise over bumps. As soon as I'm on the highway, it's as smooth as it can be though.
I had both of the rear shocks replaced but the noise continued...

I had a clunk going over bumps after I installed my coils. One of my rear shock bolts sheared off but yours sounds much more violent than mine was. I am not sure what it could be after what you said and all had done to it
OP I have pretty much the EXACT same noise, and was guessing it is the compression rod bushing. It is only on my front driver side and started about 2 months after my coil installation. It started somewhat quiet and has progressively gotten louder and now happens over small bumps too..
Agree this is driving me nuts!! Can't wait to resolve..
I read that if you replaced only the compression rod bushing and your ball joint bushing on the rod is shot too, the only way to stop the noise is completey replace the WHOLE compression rod.

Anyone ever found a resolution to this? I've had Megan coilover setup for just over a month and this noise started literally today. It sounds awful. I'm taking it into a shop later today but was curious if anyone else has come across this and what the cause is.
So for ne1 that cares and maybe this will help someone in the future the sound I was experiencing was a loose screw at the top of the front passenger side strut. I have Megan coilovers so the screw that was loose was part of the pre-assembly. Obviously not a huge issue and was a very easy quick fix
I have the exact same noise coming from front passenger side suspension area sounds like. Had the noise before and after my new bc racing coilover install and torqued down everything to spec so I'm pretty sure it's not the struts.
Anyone figure out what this noise is?
