Need Help Picking Coils.

Currently I have a 05 Stock Sedan (non sport), And I'm looking to upgrade the suspension. What I'm looking for, is a coilover system that will give me a mild drop (1 inch on all 4 corners), and a ride quality on par with like a stock 335i. I hate harsh/stiff rides. I want to feel planted, but comfortable. From what I've gathered from my days and days of searching, my best bets are either. Tein CS, Tanabe Pro 5 or z40 (not really clear what the difference is except $400), and KW v2. Is there anyone out there that can tell me what my best bet is?. One thing to keep in mind, I live in Michigan, the roads here are terrible, and the winters also.

If you're only lowering about an inch all around, why not get some springs and some good shocks?

Of those choices I'd probably go for the KWs.

That was my original Idea. However, I like the idea that If in the future I ever decide to go lower, I have the ability with coils. KW is what im leaning towards also. But I've been hear progressive springs are not as good as linear? Not sure if that's true or not.

I run the Pro 5s and love them. Ride is great and after 20K miles no issues with them.

I wouldn't say that one is "better" than the other really, just depends on the type of driving you'll be doing.

95% street driving. Also I live in Michigan, the roads are terrible. If I was still down in Florida, I wouldnt be as concerned with ride quality. Blue Dream, comfort wise what would you compare them to? I've only ever ridden in a G35 non sport sedan, and my buddies coupe.

I just installed my BC BR coilovers. So far I am very pleased with the ride quality. Of course, I did install hotchkiss sways and whiteline adjustable end links too.

If you're cruising around town a lot, I'd probably still opt for KW of all those choices.

When set to full soft they feel just like the OEM ride as far as softness. I bought them because I used to drive over 20K a year and wanted a comfortable ride and these were the perfect choice. The only downside is they won't allow you to slam your car but it doesn't sound like that's something you're interested in.

Cheapest price I found the Tanabe Pro 5's were on amazon.

Amazon Amazon

Called many dealers and they wouldn't price match because it's way too low. Believe it's a priceing error on Amazon's part but they'll honor it till it gets fixed

Are you talking about the $1305 as the price? I got mine under $1200 from b2autodesigns last year.

Hey Blue, you mighth'v gotten them under priced.. But thats less then what the resellers get em for. Right now, amazon has a pricing error, they believe MSRP is 1390 but it's actually 1780. Called up many places and they didn't believe the listing was legit, but it is. Just ordered and got a set.

I got my Pro-5's for around $1,300 a couple of years ago. Looks like the price went up
