Thumbs up Recommendations for Coilovers

Hello all,

I've been thinking about lowering my 05 G sometime this spring and wanted to start my research now. My G is my daily driver for now and was thinking about just a mild drop, but I'll probably want to go lower in the future. Do you guys have any recommendations on coilovers for a daily so the ride isn't too stiff? I'm looking to spend around 1k.

Also I'm considering upgrading to a G37 sometime in the next couple of years. Do the G35's and G37's have the same chassis where I would just be able to swap the coilovers over to the G37 if I do decide to make the switch or will I have to buy complete new one?

Well, for that price range you have their, the only one that comes to mind is BC racing which is pretty good.

You'll need completely different ones for the 37. For your budget, I'd recommend Apexi ExV's, or BC like bluedevil said.

Or you could buy mine

For around 1100 you can find new Stance's by some vendors, which most if not all would pick over BC. But for 999 get the BC's

I'm very glad I switched from BC to Stance GR+ true type rears. For an extra couple bucks they're a much better coilover, imo. More height adjustability and better ride quality. Had the BCs on for about a year and they weren't bad, but the ride wasn't as smooth as I wanted on almost full stiff and it didn't get low enough in the rear for my liking. At completely full stiff the Stances ride as smoothly as my BCs at their factory middle setting. It always just felt to me that the BC stiff setting locked up the valves all together, no happy medium. An extra $200 or so is worth it, imo. Especially if you're not in a hurry to get them, that's easy to budget for.

I personally ran F&F II's for a few years and now they are on a friend's car. Personally I would say they are "ok", but I wouldn't buy them again even though I got them for a decent amount under your budget. If I were you and you could afford it I would jump up to some Stances, but if that isn't possible I think BC's are a good option for you.
