AWD upper control arms same as RWD?
Hey all, one of my ball joints on my upper control arms is worn, and the other side of the car seems to be making a clunking noise, and I think it's from the upper control arms (sure sounds like it from what I can replicate with an unloaded suspension in my garage).
Anyway, are the upper control arms the same between the AWD and RWD cars? I can't seem to find any part numbers to confirm this, but some listings on ebay said they were for both cars. I tried searching here and couldn't find anything either.

That's what I was trying to do. But InfinitiPartsUSA only lists an upper for the 2005 Coupe. However, the 2006 has different parts listed for the X and the RWD. I also found some pictures that show the control arms are slightly different. Probably like the compression arms, same geometry but heavier duty.
So to answer, the G35X uses different upper, lower, and compression arms. As well as end links. Turns out my end link is bad on one side rather than the control arm, so that's quite a bit cheaper.

After Market upper arms should be fine. They are usually overbuilt rather than engineered to be just right (nothing wrong with this, just not cost effective for an OEM). So they work fine with the AWD cars. But I imagine a stock RWD upper control arm wouldn't last as long as a stock AWD arm because of the torque transferred through it since the front wheels have power going through them.
For End links there are a few options at Rockauto. All stock equivalent. I bought Raybestos for $9 I think. Rear is the same as the RWD car.
