Any opinions on these supposedly not a true coilover for its price point of 1636

any input. my KW coilovers crapped on me so need a new set

also considering BC with swift springs

I've ran HKS Hypermax III's and then Hypermax IV's for 10 years. I loved them. Full 30 way dampening adjustability with easy access to all adjustment controls. So whether on the track or street, you can dial in to your preference. I would not hesitate to buy again.

Do you think it’s a downgrade from variant 2s is it true it’s not a true style coilover any pictures of how they look installed ?

HKS Hipermax IV SP is one of the most popular suspension choices for serious track day drivers amongst the s2000 community and several other platforms. It is arguably the best sub $2000 suspension for track duty, with Ohlins R&T being the next step up. With that being said, the GT model is meant more for street driving while still being capable at the track. You will have far superior damping in comparison to a BC shock. The reason HKS Hipermax isn't available on every car is because of the amount of hours it takes for R&D to develop a product for each vehicle application. BC will take the same damper and just slap on a different spring and make it fit your car.

Is there a specific reason you want a "true" coilover design? There is no reason to move the spring to a location where it was not designed for other than to have an adjustable toe arm.
