Project MU dimpled/slotted rotors and Hawk Fero Carbon Pads... Pics and Questions
Well I just installed my new rotors and pads this weekend.
Rotors:
Here are a few quick pics. The hats are going to be repainted as the color is a little off and there are a few places that could need to be touched up.
Just Finished

Hood Cracked
Home Made Ramps
Rotors:
Project Mu, SCR PRO (2-Piece Dimpled & Slotted) Front Rotors
Project Mu, SC-R (Dimpled & Slotted) Rear Rotors
Pads:Project Mu, SC-R (Dimpled & Slotted) Rear Rotors
Hawk Ferro Carbon Brake Pads
The question: I've been trying to bed these brake pads for 3 days now and I cannot get the damn things to stop squeeking whenever the rotors are cold. Why are the brakes still squeeking? Is it the pad material? Can this combo be properly bedded? Will this squeeking ever stop? Here are a few quick pics. Thanks. The rotor hats have high temp paint on them, not powdercoat. I got a great deal thru a friend so I really shouldn't comment on price (and the paint and repaint is free... )
The darn squeeking is INSANE. It doesn't stop!!! I have the little metal plates behind the pads and I didn't put any goop on during the install. Did I forget a step?

Neff,
Nicely done. I am contemplating new rotors and pads as well and like the look of your set up. Not thrilled with the continued noise your are experiencing though (as I know you are not either). Please keep us all up to date as you make enhancements to your setup. Regards, Duane.

Make sure you follow instructions and wait the full 10 minutes before reinserting them. I got impatient and installed them after five minutes. Had to redo them a month later cause of the noise. 10 minutes does do the trick.

my hawk pads made the same squeal which was almost unbareable. went to autozone/advance auto and bought the $3 dollar can, removed pads and soaked the backside of the pads and the guard with the stuff..let dry for like 3-4 min...and voila!! worked also on my buddies G35 who had hawks that squealed!!
