I plan on lowering my G35 Coupe with my Tein Basics I have installed. I currently have both ride height rings in front and back all the way to the top. I plan on dropping the rear all the way down (which is a 1.2" drop) and the front I plan on dropping 1.5". My question is, how far do I turn the front ride height rings to adjust to that height? The minimum drop (according to Tein's specs on their web site) is .7" and the max is 2.6".

 

You will really want to answer this question for yourself. As the car now sit's, I need how much more drop to be happy? Whatever additional amount that is simply use a tape measure and mark a spot on the threaded bodies as a guide, chalk or a white crayon will work, though a pencil can work in a bind(pretty hard to see). So if you need .5" more in the front, make the mark .5" down and spin the perch down to the mark. Same thing for the rear.

 

I'd start with the fronts about 1" up from the lowest setting and go from there.

 

hows the ride now with Basics vs OEM suspension? comfortable? bumpy?

Tein basics are definitely stiffer than my OEM 05 sport suspension. But not overbearing. I think the stock is too soft though so my oprinion might be different than yours.

 

Thanks everyone for their input. I dropped the front probably a 3/4" on Saturday. Not too bad of a project.

BTW, the Tein Basics are stiffer then stock. Which is good because the G handles better - especially with the addition of the Stillen sways/strut brace. But the ride is bumpier, but you get used to it.

 

^ even though its stiffer, the car is still comfortable during everyday driving?

its what u prefer really. i prefer a slighty stiffer ride than stock but not so hard where i fly off my seat on a dip (like my prvious car) so this setup is a happy medium. aggresive enough on turns and comfortable enough on the street/freeways. daily driving.

i have them and i love them.
the ride is stiff though, but the handling is great.

stock set up is
front: 27.52
rear: 27.95

mine set up is at
front: 25.75
rear: 26.75
at my current setup i have a little less than a one finger gap in the front and a 1 finger gap in the rear.


after christmas and new years i will prolly drop it down another 3/4 of an inch and make it 25 in the front and 26 in the rear. at this setup i will be tucking about a half an inch all the way around.

 

I Have ann 06 Coupe and i think im gonna put some Tein Basics on it with some 20" wheels...wat do u think?

 

I just had Tein Basics put on my coupe, and really like the way it rides. I have 20s with pretty good rubber, so the ride is smooth enough for my taste.
