G35/350Z damper question

I just purchased some 350Z RS*R springs for my G35C and am looking to purchase Tokico D-Specs. It is my understanding that the only difference between the G35 and 350Z Tokicos is that the rear 350Z units have shorter travel. So considering that I am going to be using 350Z springs on a G35, which set of Tokicos would be best?

The tokicos made for the 350 sound like your best bet. They are the model DSP9 compared to the DSP7 for the G. Apparently the shaft is a bit shorter to account for the shorter springs.

Awsome. Thanks for the replies. Should I go straight to the D-Specs or can the stock shocks handle the 350Z RS*R springs?

If the mod fund is a little low.. sure run the OEMs for a while.
But, get the D-Specs when you can spare the cash, you won't regret it.

I've got the G35 D-Specs. Given the valving is the same, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work just as well - that is assuming the dampening is linear across the entire stroke of the shocks. If you ever intend to go back to stock springs - get the G35 DSpecs.

If I understand correctly, you have an '05 coupe 6mt, so you should have the revised springs in the rear. This means the rear shocks are pretty well matched to that spring rate. The fronts will be a little underdamped compared to stock, but it is only about 10%. You could probably get by with stock shocks if you want.

However, most people prefer the D-Specs over stock shocks even on OEM springs after installed. I'd say its your call...

I think I will go ahead then. I'd like to keep the stock shocks in good shape if I ever need to put them back in. Thanks.
